This is where Bingo Justice Happens

We have some great bingo news which will make for a very pleasant read. About a week ago, a major victory for bingo was won in the halls of a Florida courthouse. This legal battle lasted over 13 years and cost over a $250,000 in fees but finally, two businessmen came out tops. Gordon Paget and his business partners’ hugely successful chain of bingo halls were shut down in 1995. This made headlines in the world of Bingo and forced these two successful men to shut their profitable Bingo enterprises.

The authorities had claimed that Paget was breaking standard bingo laws and regulations and the men were actually indicted on racketeering charges! Gordon’s business partner, Furtney, was forced to spend weeks in an Orange County jail and was eventually acquitted by a jury of his peers.

Now, 13 years later (and after the unfortunate death of Furtney) the Florida courts have ruled in Paget’s favour! The Honourable judge Lawrence V. Johnston has awarded $13.5 Million in damages to the bingo business of Paget. Justice, at the cost of years of stress and court appearances. Yet, justice nonetheless.
