The authorities had claimed that Paget was breaking standard bingo laws and regulations and the men were actually indicted on racketeering charges! Gordon’s business partner, Furtney, was forced to spend weeks in an Orange County jail and was eventually acquitted by a jury of his peers.

Now, 13 years later (and after the unfortunate death of Furtney) the Florida courts have ruled in Paget’s favour! The Honourable judge Lawrence V. Johnston has awarded $13.5 Million in damages to the bingo business of Paget. Justice, at the cost of years of stress and court appearances. Yet, justice nonetheless.

A very lucky man will reunite with his son who is down under in Australia, thanks to his recent and spectacular win at the Gala Bingo tournament of over £60,000. This unnamed 62 year old man from Bradford, UK is only able to make this trip to visit his son thanks to his large cash win this past Sunday.

Josie Merrick, the assistant manager at Gala Bingo in Bradford, said: “It was a great end to a great night! Other members had already had smaller wins earlier that evening, so to win the National at the end of the night was the icing on the cake. There was a great atmosphere, with everyone clapping and cheering him.”

In only a surprising 43 numbers, the man managed to complete a full house on the national bingo game in addition this was the lowest full house call throughout all of the participating clubs. In addition his luck didn’t end there! Firstly, he won the national jackpot prize worth £60,000; then he went on to winning the regional prize of £1,943 and also won the Gala Bingo’s own house prize of £80. The total of all these winnings for the night was £62,023.
